Hamada Fuki was born in 1972 in Fukuoka. She graduated with a major in oil painting from Musashino Art University in 1998 and completed the printmaking course at the Musashino Art University Graduate School of Art and Design in 2000. She was invited by the University of Alberta in Canada in the same year. She was selected as an overseas trainee for emerging artists by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs 2009. Her solo exhibitions include “Cross View Arts Selection”, Cross View Arts, Tokyo (2022), “ FUKI HAMADA – The formation of the world,” SNAP Gallery, Edmonton (2012), “ FUKI HAMADA,” Gallery Käpy, Kauppatie (2007), she has also participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide, including Liberty Arts Gallery, Yreka, CA (2022), Cracow International Printmaking Triennial 2018, Cracow, Poland (2018), and won the Grand Prize at the Aomori International Print Triennial 2007 Exhibition, Aomori, Japan (2007).
