Dear Tolman Collection Clients,

For our clients living abroad, we have advanced to computer-wise techniques like carefully worded messages that should get to the clients, instead of personal phone calls or regular invitations.  We have worked carefully on this new aspect of doing business. I suppose it tends to make some of my messages too long, but I do try to keep them brief and to the point.

This week I am sending this message with a list of the 40 prints and paintings that we have selected from our large stock of items for an exhibition at the Tokyo American Club on Sunday evening, April 25 (for TAC members) and then all day on Monday for other people who are not club members to have chance to see what we have assembled for that day and then for our April 26 audience. It is part of their “Decor” show in which we have been asked to participate.

Here you will find photos of the one-of-a kind prints and paintings that we will offer to those clients who are building their own collections. It suddenly occurred to me, in the selection of works by seven artists - Clifton Karhu, Daniel Kelly, Joel Stewart, and Brian Williams, as well as selected works by giants such as Mori Yoshitoshi and Saito Kiyoshi and including very special works by Shinoda Toko just might include pieces that could be of interest to our far-away clients.

I have attached our ad from the Tokyo American Club magazine with images of those special pieces with details of age and condition so that you can have a chance at these pieces, too. For our clients who live out of Japan the additional burden of postage to your home will have to be considered, although you do not have to deal with the unpopular sales tax which residents of Japan must pay. We are using all the tools of getting the images of the treasures that we are putting up for sale into the spin so that everyone can figure out what The Tolman Collection is all about. I hope that you will find art works that appeal to you and also hope to hear from you about these wonderful art works.
