Mana Aki was born in 1960 in Kochi. She graduated from Kochi University with a degree in education in 1982 and studied woodblock printmaking under Teruo Isomi in Tokyo. Mana Aki creates woodblock prints utilizing the characteristics of the thin and robust washi paper made in her hometown of Kochi. She has participated in international print exhibitions in Japan and abroad, contributing to international exchange through printmaking.
