Everything You Wanted To Know About Us But Were Afraid To Ask

Who we are
In order to keep up with the times we have found an expert to construct a new web site for The Tolman Collection. There are so many facets of our gallery and our way of doing business that we began to worry that we might have taken some things for granted that our clients have not even thought about. We have been in business for more than 45 years and have been operating from a charming Japanese building in Shiba Daimon in the vicinity of Tokyo Tower and the Zojoji Temple. Here are the staff of the Tolman Collection, Tokyo.

What do we offer for sale
For example, we wondered if our clients are aware that we fully-represent two dozen artists and have an additional three dozen whose works we have fewer copies of. We sell limited edition, numbered and signed prints (and occasionally original paintings.) We are the main dealers for Shinoda Toko - (abstract lithographs and original paintings); Clifton Karhu - (colorful woodblocks of the Japan scene that may not always be here); Takahashi Hiromitsu - depictions of Kabuki themes in Japanese stencil (kappa-zuri); Wako Shuji- traditional lithographs of Japan "through my modern eyes";  Yuichi Hasegawa -  (calming traditional woodblocks with themes of nature); and Yoshio Imamura - original paintings and abstract prints with a truly Japanese feeling;   These are the artists for whose works we are most noted.

Following is a list containing, in alphabetical order, the artists who comprise the Tolman Collection’s offerings. Those with stars are our feature artist.
